Cerebos Salt Factory

Tours can be arranged usualy on a Thursday, tel 022 783 1133,  to see how salt is havested from the salt pans which you see on your left approaching Velddrif.

"Bokkomlaan"

Drive down "Bokkomlaan" next to the beautifull Berg River and view the West Coast's own "Bokkoms" or wind dried Harders (Mullet) are popular West Coast delicacy and are found only in Velddrif.

West Coast National Park

This is part of  National Parks and is self drive. Situated near Langabaan at the northern end, it stretches for a further 25Klms until you reach the R27 which takes you either back to Velddrif or to Cape Town. The blue sea in the lagoon is spectacular in colour, and if your a keen bird watcher this is paradise. On the other side you can observe whales between August and November.You can indulge in varoius water sports on the other side of the lagoon. There are many species of plants to observe. At the information centre you can enjoy good food and obtain information about the wild life that exists. Well worth a visit.
