From Johannesburg. Travel down the N1 to Cape Town, then take the R27 Coast Rd that takes you through Table View past Langebaan to Velddrif.

From Durban. One can go in two directions, either down the Wild Coast towards Port Elizabeth, and then to Cape Town, or go on the N3 North towards Harrismith. You then make your way to Bloemfontein, connecting on the N1 to Cape Town.

Admiral Island is part of Port Owen and can be reached by crossing the waterway via a bridge. This development was started three years ago.  The island offers a unique opportunity to invest in a very secure area overlooking the waterways on both sides of the island.

The well maintained public areas, have good roads with lead off places to relax, watching the abundance of birdlife and wonderful sunsets. There are also safe playing areas for the kids.

Finding your way around

Velddrif, Port Owen and Laaiplek are as close as suburbs in a city. Coming over the bridge, you first enter Velddrif.

Turn right after the bridge to get to the culturally historical Bokkomlaan, where an age-old tradition is still practiced. You can buy bokkom here, as well as enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Berg River.  Want to have some fun?  Boat rides easily arranged.

Just to the left of the bridge are more sights and facilities on the river.

Turning left at that same bridge gets you to Port Owen and Laaiplek.

Port Owen has the well-known Marina and Admiral Island, and you will find the beach and harbor at Laaiplek.
